Job description
Hours: Monday to Friday with some Saturdays throughout the year. 04:00/05.00 hours – 14:00/15.00 hours Mon – Fri approx. 50 hours per week.
Wage dependent on experience
Candidates preferably would have good butchery knowledge and knife skills although this is not essential. You must have experience in supervising and/or leading teams and a thorough understanding of poultry products including game products would be desirable.
Duties will include:
1. Supervise and oversee workload for your relevant department and team.
2. Ensure all staff under your supervision work safely and efficiently
3. Cost out products as required.
4. Ensure stock is used in rotation or as required by Managers
5. Ensure all products passing through your department have full traceability and labelling.
6. Ensure all products passing through your department are kept to within the legal temperature requirements.
7. Ensure all product into freezers are correctly labelled and placed in the appropriate part of the freezer.
8. Ensure all products are packed correctly by packers working for your department.
9. Ensure only trained personnel use equipment in your area and use it according to the correct working instructions
10. Ensure all employees trained and relevant records and working instructions are signed.
11. Ensure all equipment is kept in working order and breakages reported promptly.
12. Ensure a yearly review is conducted for all employees in your department.
13. To ensure that your department and its employees are all working to an acceptable level.
14. To be responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety.
15. Attend Meetings as required

Salary: £11.50-£14.00 per hour
