Diagnostics, Anaesthetics, Theatres & Critical Care (DATCC) are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual for the role of Business Manager. This is a key role within the directorate supporting the Service Director and wider Senior Management Team.
DATCC is the largest directorate within Acute Services and consists of Theatres and Anaesthetics, Critical Care, Radiology, Laboratory Medicine, and Medical Physics with services delivered across all acute hospitals in NHS Lothian as well as a number of community locations. The directorate has an integral role in emergency and elective patient pathways across NHS Lothian, as well as regional working models and the Shared Services agenda.
About the role
The Postholder's responsibilities will impact on all areas of DATCC. These will be set in response to the requirements of the Service Director and will include: -
- Facilitating the achievement of DATCC strategic plans and objectives through management of key work stream projects. Including to ensure service change and performance improvements are implemented, monitored and evaluated with a particular focus on effective and efficient services, modernisation, effective performance management and fiscal governance.
- Leading, developing and managing a portfolio of projects following recognised project management methodology, and ensuring delivery within programme timescales.
- To produce, timely, accurate and detailed papers and business cases as required for the most senior fora within the Board.
- To produce detailed accurate data and analysis of acute performance to support Scottish Government requirements as required. To proactively analyse data to support early identification of variance and continuous improvement.
- In conjunction with the Acute Services Management team and Deputy Chief Executive’s office, further develop and implement a performance management framework across DATCC, including data analysis, preparation and monitoring of quality and performance using Key Performance Indicators.
- Responsibility for analysis of DATCC information and data, developing regular progress reports, identifying areas of risk to enable remedial actions to be initiated as required. Undertaking complex audit activity as required.
- Responsibility for deploying effective communication strategies across a range of service areas, ensuring engagement of all stakeholders to achieve DATCC objectives.
- Development of effective business processes within the Directorate, ensuring that agreed timescales and milestones are met to a high standard.
- Responsibility for development of guidance/ training programmes as required to support the implementation of DATCC plans.
