We are looking for a new member of our well-established and experienced PBS team who will be based across Hampshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, London and Buckinghamshire.
We know that having the right level of qualification in a PBS related field is important but not as important as having the right person. So, if you have or are willing to work towards formal qualifications and ongoing CPD and clinical supervision in PBS then we want to hear from you.

A PBS Specialists role has three clear strands:
  • Comprehensive functional behaviour assessment – understanding a person’s learning history and how this impacts on them now and how the current environment supports learning and engagement
  • Developing with teams and families a therapeutic model of PBS that supports proactively to identify and overcome barriers to learning and engagement. This includes working alongside the person’s circle of support and other best practice colleagues to implement the person’s plans and create an ‘enabling environment’ as described by MacIntyre’s DNA.
  • Specialist risk assessment and in depth knowledge and support in relation to our Human Right led approach to supporting crisis level behaviours safely and the use of all restrictive practice

About you

You will need wide-ranging knowledge and experience of the key factors around learning disability, autism and mental health, plus experience of implementing person-centred approaches.

You’ll have a good understanding of the concepts and principles that underpin PBS, and ideally hold or be willing to work towards a relevant professional qualification. (We will support you with this.)

You must be a driver with your own transport, as you will be travelling within the area.
