Port Operator (12 Months Fixed Term)
Forth Ports Limited is a dynamic and multimodal ports owner and operator. We offer a wide range of diverse port related services to help connect the UK with Europe and the rest of the World. The port business is where it all happens and from unitised cargoes to renewables and everything in between, we keep the UK moving.
As a consequence of a large Renewables project at our busy Port of Dundee, we are looking for Port Operators to join us working on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.

About the role
Operating plant to help load and discharge ships along with other tasks associated with cargo handling, warehousing and distribution. A significant amount of your day will be spent driving heavy plant such as fork lift trucks and tugs.
Although specialist in-house training will be provided, you should already have good plant experience and a valid fork lift truck licence. Possession of a CCNSG – Safety Passport would be advantageous and we would be really interested to hear from candidates with hydraulic plant experience.
Our working environment comprises warehouses, quaysides or the hold of a ship. The ability to work at height is essential. You will work a variety of shifts to suit the operational needs of the business and weekend working, with regular overtime, will also be a feature of the role.
Highly motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking, you should also be an effective team member. As travel to our other Ports within the Forth Ports group is required then you must have a current driving licence. An awareness of the importance of health and safety is essential along with having good numeracy and basic IT skills.
