Lancaster University Students' Union provides excellent services and opportunities to support and inspire our diverse population of over 16,000 students to make the most of their experiences at University. With students at the very heart of all we do, we are looking for a highly effective Communications Manager to join our staff team.
The role will manage the communications activity of the Union, with specific focus on developing and delivering a coherent narrative for the organisation, managing our communications channels, and ensuring the Union is represented effectively through its visual and verbal identity. The post holder will also support our internal communications work, helping to create an excellent work and organisation culture. They will lead our design and student content teams, engaging our members through creative communication and they will lead our work representing the Union’s core values to our audiences.
The Communications Manager will work with the wider organisation to develop and deliver effective communications plans for the Union’s projects and priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Union’s digital communication channels, including social media and newsletters, and the Union’s visual identity through digital, video, and print.
This role will suit a candidate that has experience overseeing a communications team in a membership organisation, third-sector organisation, and/or in a values-led private sector organisation with a desire to be innovative, creative, and student focussed.
