Job description
We require a presentable, dedicated, hardworking cook in our busy, hot kitchen. Duties involve making sandwiches, toasties, salads, pate and soup. Being able to cook the perfect poached egg is essential (for our renowned breakfasts). Attention to detail is paramount to maintain the high standards of the products. Ability to take direction from the female owner essential. The kitchen is very busy during the lunchtime hours so an ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and as part of a team is essential (we have an assistant to help during the busy periods). There may be the requirement to work some weekends but you would get the equivalent days off during the week. Holding a Food Safety Level 2 certificate would be an advantage although this can be obtained through our training program. Being able to think for yourself and understand stock rotation and stock control at the simplest basic level very useful. This is a FULL TIME job with a 40 hour contract.....not zero hours.
