Avaliable Job Today Leisure Assistant/Lifeguard – Hadleigh Pool and Leisure Centre
About the role
A leisure assistant is responsible for lifeguarding our pools, the safety of anyone in the water, maintaining excellent cleanliness standards as well as helping with equipment set-ups and set downs. All aspects of the role require great customer service interactions.
8.5 hours per week
Thursdays 13:30-21:30
Salary
Your hourly rate is dependent on your age and is between £8.21 and £10.42(Following national living wage changes in April 2023)
An Enhanced DBS check with Barred List will be required for this post.
About the person
You will be a responsible person, frequently looking after the safety and wellbeing of our customers and of other staff. You will need to be a team player but equally comfortable working on your own initiative. You will be able to deliver maintenance tasks and maintain cleanliness onsite and always enjoy delivering exceptional customer experience.
Experience & Qualifications required/preferred
The role will require a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). Those applying without this qualification will have the opportunity to undertake full training. The qualification requires you to be able to jump/dive into deep water, tread water for 30 seconds, surface dive to the deepest part of the pool (1.8m), Swim 100m continuously on front and back, Swim 50m in less than 60 seconds as well as climb out of the pool unaided.

About Hadleigh Pool and Leisure Centre
Hadleigh had a £2.4m development which was completed in July 2021 and included a brand-new pool with five 25 metre lanes of Sport England competition standard, sauna, spectator seating, improved disabled access to the pool via easy access steps and handrail, and pool pod lift and Changing Places toilet and shower facility. The centre offers swimming, gym, fitness classes, swimming lessons, health, and wellbeing classes plus a range of community programmes.
