Our client based in Slough are looking to hire an Animal / Dog Warden. This is a temporary ongoing role with possibility of becoming permanent.
Main Role for Animal/Dog Warden:
- Minimise nuisance caused by stray dogs, keeping strays from the streets using approved methods of catching dogs.
- Minimise nuisance caused by all dogs, whether stray or not, in respect of dog fouling, noise nuisance from barking and aggressive behaviour through education and enforcement.
- Collection of stray dogs, care and kennel duties
- Promote responsible dog ownership.
Key Skills for Animal/Dog warden:
- Valid, full, UK driving license (must have had a license for at least 3 years and be able to drive a van the size of a Ford Transit)
- Good basic education and ability to maintain written and electronic records (Must be computer literate with experience on tablets and mobile phone systems)
- A caring and practical attitude to dog handling, and previous relevant experience working with animals
- Able to work indoors, outdoors and wear appropriate uniform clothing
- Adequate physical fitness to handle animals
- Reliable, self-motivated, well organised and able to work with minimal supervision
- Able to deal tactfully and helpfully with the public
- The flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and solve problems as they arise
PLEASE NOTE: No experience necessary as we do give full training
Available shifts are for Animal/Dog Warden role:
- Day - 11am till 7pm
- Day - 10am till 6pm
- Night shift 4am till 4pm
37.5 hours a week or 40 hours for the night shift
Salary: £10.50/hour day shift, night shift with enhancement
Location: Based in Slough – deployed to meet contractual obligations in various locations.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £11.00-£12.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
