Job description
Project Management Officer
Glasgow
As a Barclays Project Management Officer, you will ensure initiative delivery is managed in line with the relevant Policies and Standards, using standard processes and tooling to improve the level and likelihood of successful outcomes. You will also be involved in helping to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of initiative progress and have the information they need to make the right decisions in a timely manner.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality, and innovation behind us. At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
What will you be doing?
- Coordinating and producing agreed initiative reporting/status reports in accordance with governance standards
- Assisting the Project Manager (PM) in plan set-up and baselining, and ensuring agreed plan and milestones adhere to guidance
- Maintaining project plan by tracking progress and dependencies in line with project plan delivery and informing PM of any risks or changes
- Being responsible for ensuring team follow project governance standards/methods
- Maintaining records management for artifacts required under governance including Initiative/Programme SharePoint, DLs, team mailboxes, etc
- Supporting the PM with the Change Control process – Business Case, schedule, outcomes, etc
- Ensuring RAID log is consistent with governance standards and working with the PM to escalate portfolio level risks and issues
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, including Project, Powerpoint, Word and Excel
- Experience in being process oriented with good organisational skills, attention to detail, and focus on controls
- Ability to demonstrate analytical, problem solving and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous PMO experience
- Examples of being self-motivated
- Familiarity with the Financial Services environment
Where will you be working?
Our new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration. A place where everyone can bring their true selves to work and reach their full potential. Home to 5,000 of our colleagues, our Tradeston campus will support the community in more ways than one - by creating thousands of new career opportunities and celebrating local artists. A short walk from Central Station on the south of the Clyde, it will be a key location for the Barclays business that will deepen our ties with the city and its communities.
