An exciting opportunity has become available for an IT Administrator working within National Grid Energy Distribution’s (NGED) IT Performance and Planning (P&P) department, based at either Exeter or Plymouth.
Accountable to the Principal Solutions Architect you will be responsible for providing the IT Solutions and Project Management Office (PMO) teams with administration services for all IT Solutions and PMO functions & services, across NGED IT Projects, Programmes & Portfolios.

Main Responsibilities- Working flexibly within the NGED IT Performance and Planning team, providing clerical & administration support, for core solutions & PMO functions and services throughout the Project Management Lifecycle, with particular emphasis on Project Initiation.
- Proof reading, compliance and quality of documentation as needed by IT Solutions Architects and Analysts, ensuring completeness and technical accuracy
- Assisting the IT Solutions Team to provide additional administration services for:
- Team software requests and other IT Service desk tickets
- Team member on-boarding assistance
- Undertake research as required on specific IT areas
- Ownership and updates of team Confluence, SharePoint and Service Desk
- Proof reading, compliance and quality of documentation.
- Creation and formatting based on rough drafts, identifying and resolving both routine and non-routine problems within own level of competence
- Working as part of the Performance and Planning administration team, to collaboratively provide the successful delivery of the PMO Service Desk services and associated requests
- Monitoring and responding accordingly to the PMO & Solutions mailbox and telephone enquiries and queries
- Assisting with managing document controls, including project documentation storage, version control and reviews, to ensure adherence & relevance across NGED IT Solutions & Business
Educated to NVQ level 2/3 and/or appropriate experience in Project Office or Programme Office Administration or an IT focused environment.
You will be fully PC literate, with excellent administration & IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint or similar.
Being successful in the role will require exceptional communication skills with ability to converse with internal and external stakeholders, both written and verbally, along with a great attention to detail and excellent planning and organisational skills.
You will need to have the ability to work well as part of a team and individually with a flexible approach to support Project Managers and the PMO team.

- Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
