About this opportunity
To provide a high level of Plumbing expertise including plumbing as part of a small multi-disciplinary building services team, assisting the maintenance management team in delivering a customer focussed cost effective and efficient service.
Carry out work activities to deliver planned and reactive maintenance facility services.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Complete scheduled planned maintenance activities, minor repairs and alterations allocated to you, to required standards and within required response times.
- Carry out competent person/authorised person duties for relevant systems.
- Prepare equipment for thorough examination in line with inspection companies schedule, ensuring Plant not available reports are kept to an absolute minimum.
- Annotate drawings for any alterations made to the site services infrastructure.
- Attend or advise, on rota, out-of-hours emergencies.
- Provide maintenance assistance to other work colleagues when required.
- Work at all times following site environment, health and safety working practices taking due care to your personal safety, and the safety of work colleagues, contractors and site visitors.
- Ensure site housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Co-operate with your employer to develop skills when training is provided.
Job requirements
Essential
- Appropriate technical qualifications such as a City & Guilds / NVQ (or equivalent) in Plumbing.
- At least two years’ experience in a building services/maintenance experience.
- Experience working on industrial/commercial central heating systems.
- Experience of working in a busy demand led environment.
- Plumbing maintenance and fitting skills.
- Good personal organisational skills.
- Good understanding of the environment and general H&S in the workplace.
- Good level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and application of a safe system of work of the following:
- Plumbing
- Waste Systems
- Central Heating Systems
- Control of Legionella
- Health and Safety legislation relevant to trade
- A customer service approach to problem solving.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers and teams at all levels and work as part of a team or independently.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability and use own initiative and with minimum supervision.
- A flexible and positive attitude to innovation and change
Desirable
- IOSH working safely or relevant experience
- Experience with Compressed Air Systems
- Experience with Steam Systems
- IT skills / CAFM systems to record maintenance and work activities
