About The Role
We are currently recruiting for Casual Security Officer to join our security team. We are looking for someone who prides themselves on providing all campus users with a safe, secure and well managed environment to live, work and visit. It’s a close-knit team and we’re looking for someone as passionate as us about delivering these goals.
The key responsibilities of this post will include welfare, safety, pastoral care and security of a diverse campus population, providing first aid, attending emergency situations, fire alarm activation and evacuations, dealing with conflict situations and patrolling and securing the University campus.
You’ll work alongside a dedicated team of Officers on days and nights on a casual basis to cover leave, sickness and times where additional officers may be needed.
About You
We are looking for someone who has experience in working shifts and working with vulnerable young adults. It’s not the typical security job so we need the person with the right balance of customer care, communication skills, resilience, attention for detail and empathy as well as not being afraid to challenge where needed. The ideal candidate would have the following skills/experience:
- Experience of dealing with welfare related issues.
- Ability to deal with difficult/challenging situations with confidence, effectively and calmly.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Strong commitment to Health and Safety awareness.
A full training package will be provided to ensure you have the knowledge and skills to work in this unique environment.
