Job Purpose:
Working as a member of our specialist team you will be responsible for the installation, site investigation, layout design, commissioning and servicing of the range of renewable systems we supply and maintain. Covering the Highlands and Aberdeenshire, properties visited will be both new build and existing, domestic and small scale commercial. You must be a time served plumber with a valid G3 unvented certificate and a minimum of 2 years experience.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
· Installation of air source and ground source heat pumps alongside underfloor heating and radiator systems, in line with manufacturers guidelines and with adherence to MCS requirements. In-house and manufacturer training will be provided on an ongoing basis to keep up with advances in technology and working practices.
· Completion of all necessary service/installation documentation and submission to office in an accurate and timely manner.
· Servicing on systems as instructed.
· Site visits to advise on technical aspects of design, installation or warranty claims.
· Procure materials through approved suppliers, ensuring best value at all times.
· Liaise with builders, trades, homeowners and social housing tenants - maintaining a professional and courteous manner at all times whilst you represent the company.
· Ensure all tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
· Continually review and make recommendations for product and process improvements on an ongoing basis.
· Provide technical support to sales and customer service departments as required
· Through rigorous training both on the job and externally, develop strong product knowledge and maintain a high level of technical proficiency.
Person Specification:
· Must demonstrate a positive and versatile ‘can-do’ attitude
· Be happy to work alone or as part of a small team
· Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Be capable of building positive working relationships to deliver high levels of customer service
· Able to work extended hours and spend nights away as required without upsetting domestic situation
· Able to commute reliably to site with clean or near clean driving licence
Hours of Work:
· Full-time, Mon-Fri, 38 hours per week, 8.30am to 5pm (3pm on Fridays) with some flexibility as determined by workload. Some extended hours (paid overtime) may be required from time to time to ensure timely completion of projects.
· Overnights away attract compensation benefits plus meal allowance
Holidays:
· 30 days per annum incl. 7 statutory days.
Place of work:
· As required, covering primarily (but not limited to) the Highlands and Aberdeenshire. Company vehicle will be provided.
Additional information:
Previous experience of installing heat pumps would be desirable but not essential
