Job description
We are looking for passionate and motivated applicants to work in our Out of School and Holiday Club.
Play House Out of School Club offers before and after school childcare to children aged 4-11 years for children attending Norwood Primary School and Gunthorpe Primary School; as well as offering a Holiday Club city wide (Peterborough and surrounding) for children aged 4-12 years during school holiday periods.
Objectives of Service
The post will be to take on the role of Playworker. The role will include supporting children with activities (inside and outside), supporting the team with group admin paperwork including planning, registers, membership forms, delivering activities, having excellent communication skills to interact and support families and children, building working relationships with other members of the team, caring for the children's safety and wellbeing whilst attending the setting.
Initial Specific Responsibilities
- To engage with and support all children attending the setting, as necessary.
- To be involved in planning and setting up of activities.
- To liaise with the parent(s)/carer(s) who accompany the children as appropriate.
- To conduct evaluations with the children who use the service; and record the voice of the child.
- To ensure health and safety standards are maintained
- To attend supervision and development events as required, both contributing to and developing your own competencies, to ensure best outcomes for all children.
- To comply with all Barnardo's policies especially Keeping Children Safe, GDPR, Confidentiality, etc
Hours
As an when needed to cover preschool as well so hours will be flexible between 9-3pm as well as out of school club/ breakfast club hours.
Opening Times
- Play House Out of School Club (Term Time Only) – Monday to Friday, 7.30am-9am and 3pm-6pm
- Play House Holiday Club (School holidays) – Monday to Friday, 7.30am-6pm
