There has never been a more exciting time to join the Planning team at Broxbourne Council, as there are many new and exciting developments within the Borough, including the construction of Sunset Studios Waltham Cross, the regeneration of Waltham Cross Town Centre and the Brookfield Riverside shopping and residential development, amongst many more.
Are you an enthusiastic individual who would like the opportunity to join the Council’s Development Management team during this exciting time? We are looking for a Planning Assistant or a Planning Officer, with the role offered, which is determined by your experience and qualifications. These duties are varied you could be working towards being a Planning Officer studying and dealing with smaller applications, or dealing with larger applications by assisting the Principal Planners on large-scale planning applications as a Planning Officer.
The successful candidates will be educated to degree level in Planning (or a related subject
area) and willing to undertake further necessary qualifications to become eligible for full
chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institution (RTPI). You should be
enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated. You must be able to work under your own initiative and also effectively in partnership with Planning colleagues, Developers, Agents, Elected Members and other stakeholders in order to support the Planning Service. The Planning Officer’s role requires recent Planning experience, preferably in Development Management, excellent analytical, negotiation skills and good communication skills; both verbal and written. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post. A current, valid driving license is essential
