R O L E P U R P O S E – Responsible for the planning, ordering and supply of approved materials to meet customer requirements. Responsible for managing the strategic supplier base, ensuring compliance with CAA & EASA P145. Coordinate material provisioning to introduce new products.

Accountabilities:
· Managing the acquisition and disposal of materials to meet BAAE/BA objectives and budgets.
· Using available planning information and systems to effectively forecast material requirements.
· Managing a delegated section of the Material Supply process.
· Work with programmes team to introduce new products.
· Ensuring that all material planning, purchasing and disposal activities at BAAE conform to BA corporate procedures.
· Involvement in the goal setting process for the team and individually.
· Negotiating best value and working on cost saving initiatives with suppliers.
· Action materials buying plan, BOM amendments and performance measures for materials team, communicate as appropriate to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
· Maintaining and developing materials planning systems, processes and documentation.
· Analyse data and produce business and statistical reports as required.
· Identify and mitigate risks to material supply.
· Manage open order book in conjunction with Material Agent.
Skills / Capabilities
· Strong communicator, ability to engage suppliers and influence performance.
· Able to negotiate effectively to obtain best value.
· Ability to manipulate data in excel, highly PC literate – good SAP knowledge.
· Ability to prioritise and judge urgency of work to meet deadlines.
· Work well under pressure and respond in a timely manner to requests for data or analysis.
· Project management skills with strengths in providing analytical analysis to influence direction and decision making.
· Excellent IT written, communication, oral and presentation skills.
· Legal and regulatory airworthiness awareness.
· knowledge of aircraft maintenance environment and how it interacts with material consumption.
· Ability to prioritise and demonstrate good time management skills.
Qualifications / Experience
· MCIPS qualified would be an advantage (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply).
· Minimum 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade C or above, including English and Maths, HNC/HND or Degree level is desirable.
· 2 years experience of working within a materials supply environment, at an MRO or similar environment desirable.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
