Job description

We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Planner / Engineer at our Dartmouth Way Site in Leeds, working 40 hours per week,day shift 7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday-Friday.

The Role:

There is a requirement to provide a Maintenance Planner / Engineer to drive improvements to our current production efficiencies, maintenance, and improvement programs to significantly reduce our manufacturing costs.

The Planner role is not full time so you will be required to support engineering on reactive & proactive breakdown tasks & completion of PPM’s.

The role will implement and share a program of opportunities including best practices, team development, personal development and supporting the Group Engineering strategy.

Also, a key requirement to drive improvements in our site H&S through effective management, training & discipline of your teams and contractors across the site.

Strong ability to manage, drive and focus the engineers to provide suitable maintenance support at all times is a pre-requisite in this expanding autonomous role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To own & develop the current CMMS (Computer maintenance management system)” Holistech” to reduce downtime on equipment.
  • Maintain the asset register.
  • Work with production to plan in weekly maintenance on equipment.
  • Plan in annual service work & annual overhauls.
  • Work with the engineering team to improve and better the current maintenance planning & execution system.
  • Manage all site equipment calibrations.
  • Contractor management & Permit issue management.
  • Review downtime data and key priorities to focus maintenance.
  • Develop stores and spare parts stock requirements for your area of responsibility.
  • Lead external audit visits through the planned maintenance & breakdown procedure.
  • Hands on engineering breakdown support.
  • Support the engineering budget through delivering cost effective maintenance.
  • Drive Capital improvement programs through exposing opportunities, cost / benefit analysis reports, requests for cash and implementation.

To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner in compliance with the companies Health & Safety Policy and Procedures and to work safely with other employees.

To protect the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others at all times through demonstrating the lead for H&S on site.

To take an active role in continuously developing your skills and knowledge through self-development activities and/or through attending Company organised training and development opportunities.

To ensure that the Company is professionally represented at all times, both inside and outside the business.

To respond to ad hoc requests and/or take an active role in specific projects as directed by your line manager.

To undertake any other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required by the Company.

The Person:

  • Able to work autonomously, with a ‘right first time’ mentality
  • Experience within a large industrial plant with process (FMCG) manufacturing
  • Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality within highly regulated environment
