Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach are recruiting for three intern roles:
- Student Recruitment Intern to support the UG Student Recruitment team
- Campus Events Intern to support the Campus Events team
- Outreach Programmes Intern to support the Outreach Programmes team
These fun, challenging and varied placement roles are pivotal in providing student voice input to the day-to-day operations of our student recruitment and widening access and participation teams. You’ll help shape and deliver our recruitment and outreach activities, working both in person and online with young people taking their first steps towards higher education, and being supported by our experienced teams to develop your employability skills.
Job descriptions for each role attached.
Student Recruitment Intern – You will be part of the UK Student Recruitment Team, travelling to schools and colleges across the UK to talk to prospective students about what it is like to choose to study at Bath. You will attend in-school HE and Careers Fairs, large UCAS and other HE Exhibitions, and deliver a range of talks on applying to university and choosing to study at Bath. This role involves frequent travel, including regular overnight stays during busier periods and will suit you if you are enthusiastic about sharing your experiences of studying at Bath and eager to support students exploring their HE options.
Campus Events Intern – You will be part of the Campus Events Team and will support the organisation and delivery of a programme of on-campus activities including residential visits (e.g. Discover Bath), taster days, open days, campus tours and school visits. The role will also involve planning and delivering a range of talks on applying to university and choosing to study at Bath.
Outreach Programmes Intern – You will support the delivery of programmes of activity for prospective students, particularly focusing on our Target Bath programme. You’ll be a confident user of technology and input into the design, planning and delivery of programmes using your lived experience as a Student of Colour at Bath, or with deep knowledge and skills in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
The successful candidates will be confident in the use of technology, ideally have experience working with young people in the UK schools system and will have a commitment to student recruitment and widening access to Bath. They will be flexible to work outside contracted working hours (time in-lieu will be given), working evenings and weekends as required. In this ever-changing environment willingness to change plans and manage uncertainty will be key.
These posts are open to current Bath students looking for a placement role and are offered on a full-time basis (fixed-term contract from 4 Sep 2023 until 31 July 2024).
The successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check.
