We have an exciting, part time opportunity for a Receptionist to join us on a permanent basis at our Hospice in Cambridge!
This role will act as the first point of contact for staff, patients, and visitors, providing a welcoming and safe reception service, welcoming all visitors in a friendly and professional manner. We welcome applications from candidates who would like either full time or part time hours.
Main duties will include:
- Answering calls and emails, forwarding them as necessary to the appropriate person/department, and reassuring any anxious callers. Answer any questions and queries in a professional, polite, and sensitive manner
- Using computerised systems to check in patients attending clinic appointments and to check staff movements
- Assisting with booking clinic rooms for staff members
- Responsibility for the merchandise in reception area, including the displays, stock control and processing sales
Successful applicants should have previous experience working within a similar reception or administrative role, with experience of handling cash. We also require someone who has excellent communication skills, able to deal with people face to face and over the phone in a compassionate and sensitive manner, understanding the confidential and emotional nature of the service.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and needs to be pro-rata’d for part time posts. We regret that we are unable to negotiate salary above the maximum stated within the advert.
