The team
The Programme Publicity team at ITV are responsible for all content PR for ITV's platforms. They proactively search for new audiences for ITV and ITVX through media outreach, using ITV's diverse range of content and programming to attract viewers. They work closely with the Corporate Comms team on issues and reputation management to protect our talent, our programmes and the ITV and ITVX brands.
The Picture Publicity Assistant sits within the Programme Publicity department and reports to the Picture Publicity Manager.
The role
The Picture Publicity Assistant is responsible for supporting the publicity operation; to ensure the smooth running of the picture publicity department.
Key Responsibilities
- Helping the Picture Publicity Managers with image editing, captioning, renaming, basic retouching, and colour correction.
- Assisting with photo shoots, organising catering, talent transport and general production help.
- Assisting at red carpet events, photocalls and press launches. Fielding questions and queries from photographers and liaising with publicity managers.
- Assisting with photoshoot production including but not limited to – researching and booking studios, booking freelance crew, sourcing props and set dressing and creating call sheets.
- Maintaining and approving applications to the ITV Pictures website and advising people who email the team on how to apply.
- Updating and maintaining highlights galleries on the ITV Picture website and programme thumbnails on ITV Press Preview.
- Uploading where necessary images to the ITV Picture website.
- Acting as the main point of contact with external picture desks and assisting/redirecting enquiries.
- Processing freelancer invoices for the Picture Publicity team.
- Working with internal and external production companies where necessary and ensuring images are delivered and available for the Picture Publicity Managers.
- Helping picture publicity managers create press packs for priority shows.
- Assisting the Picture Publicity Managers with mood board creation by sourcing reference images online and via Shutterstock.
- Helping with the uploading of images to ITV’s image portal and where necessary ITV’s archive system.
Unusual challenges / circumstances
- Some weekend and out-of-hours work may be required.
- You may be asked to cover for other members of the Picture Publicity Team when they are on leave.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- GCSE’s
- A Levels
- A good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, Photomechanic, Powerpoint and Google Workspace.

- Efficient and effective administration skills
- Ability to prioritise
- Reliable, discreet, mature and confident personality
- Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
- Previous experience working within a busy office environment
- Knowledge of UK publications and entertainment websites
- Computer literate
- Experience in image editing and captioning
