Job description
Our client is recruiting for Picker/Packer roles within the Washington area, You will be working for a well known distributor of high end designer fashion.
Main Duties:
- Working within the Goods In and Dispatch Teams, using handheld scanners ensuring all stock entering and leaving the facility is correct and accounted for.
- Order picking and packing
- Loading and un-loading of trailers using RF scanners (training provided)
Shifts:
Days: Mon – Fri 8am – 4.30pm
Early Shift: Mon – Fri 6.45am – 3.15pm
Lates: Mon – Fri 3.15pm – 11.15pm 37.5hrs per week
Days: Sun to Wed 40hrs per week 8am – 6.30pm
Days: Wed to Sat 40hrs per week 8am – 6.30pm
Pay Rates:
0-12wks
16-20yrs = £9.50 per hour Hours worked after 20:00 = 20% increase £11.40 per hour
21yrs+ = £10.50 per hour Hours worked after 20:00 = 20% increase £12.60 per hour
Based on 37.5hrs on the late shift is 7.5hrs per day
4.00hrs @ £10.50 per hour
3.50hrs @ £12.60 per hour
AVERAGE HOURLY RATE ACROSS THE LATE SHIFT IS £10.86

16-20yrs = £9.50 per hour Hours worked after 20:00 = 20% increase £11.40 per hour
21yrs+ = £10.50 per hour Hours worked after 20:00 = 20% increase £12.60 per hour
The Ideal Candidate will:
- Eye for detail
- Numerical skills – matching bar codes from pick list to item once located
- Good work history
- Transferable skills from other industries such as retail & hospitality can work out well in this environment
- Ongoing temporary roles working full time hours
- Lives in Washington /Gateshead area ideal locations
- Goods In dept – need to be physically fit and strong
- Dispatch – need to be fit and prepared to pick, pack and shipping (follow shipping guidelines for over 45 countries)
Temp to Perm always a possibility
The successful candidate will have:
- Positive attitude and a willing to learn
- Ideally factory and packing experience
- Attention to detail and dexterous
