Job description
Physical Healthcare Assistant
Ready for a new challenge implementing physical health excellence across our services?
Location: Northampton
Salary: £22, 265 - £25,252
Hours: Full-time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Physical Healthcare Assistant to support Advanced Clinical Practitioners in the delivery of physical healthcare.
You can achieve more at St Andrew’s Healthcare
A top 20 UK charity, St Andrew’s is a unique provider of specialist care in mental health and learning disability. We aspire to deliver truly world class, holistic services and our independence means we can always put patients’ interests at the heart of decision making, while re-investing surpluses in frontline services.
The Role
We are looking for a professional and dynamic person, preferably with existing skills in ECG and venepuncture to support senior clinicians in the delivery of physical healthcare. There is also a requirement to provide advice on promotion and advocacy of good health and wellbeing to support the charity’s aim to address the increased mortality gap experienced by people with serious mental illness.
Whilst mental health experience would be preferable, we would welcome applications from registered healthcare professionals currently not working within mental health services who have transferable skills to support our agenda.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for promoting parity of esteem between physical and mental health through the implementation of high quality healthcare across the charity. We plan to bridge health inequality for our patients by:
- Preventing unnecessary admissions to local acute hospitals
- Providing a safe resuscitation service
- Reducing the risks caused by psychotropic medication
- Increasing access to national health screening programmes
- Improving our management of long term conditions
- Improving cardio-metabolic screening and interventions
There’s no doubt that this is a demanding role working in a very fast paced environment, however for the right individual, this would be a very rewarding role and one which you could really make your own.
Reward
We offer an excellent benefits package including pension, 38 days holiday, sickness policy on par with NHS, life cover, car lease scheme, cycle to work scheme and opportunities for continuing professional development.
Interested? We would love you to apply!
