We currently have a great opportunity for a PHP Software Developer with demonstrable knowledge of:
LAMP, PHP, Symfony2, MySQL, Linux, Apache, Nginx, Javascript, PHPUnit, Git, YouTrack, PHPStorm and GitHub.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of our current internal bespoke software system (HUB)
- Assimilate information from multi-departments, producing easy to review and trackable changes and maintain effective communications will all key stakeholders (internally and externally)
- Regularly review feedback from HUB users and maintain an effective and timely development schedule to ensure ongoing HUB efficiency.
- Development of HUB including at ‘live’ tracking and inline with Departmental needs to ensure continued evolution of the system
- Provide advise and assistance with cross Company IT requirements and support the Pre-Construction Department/Finance Director with cost effective procurement needs
- Consistently seek to identify/review scripts/codes to effect streamlining of work process to reduce inefficiencies and/or increase efficiency and productivity across the business
- Establish effective working relationships with the Management Team, hosting monthly meetings to ensure pre-agreed goals are being worked towards and met
- Develop and maintain user friendly interfaces, focusing on ease of use from all levels
- Create client portals to develop the brand and enhance our reputation
- Develop the IT role and find ways to make it more integral to the business
- Any other duties needed to ensure the full discharge of duties responsibly requested by your Manager.
Ideal Candidate
Programming experience, ideally in PHP
Experience in/understanding of object-orientated design and patterns
Experience in creating database driven applications
Experience in version control systems
Good understanding of web application security
Good understanding of testing
Passion of open-source technology
Location
Leicester LE2 (fully office based) preferably within a 30-mile radius.
Package
Salary c£35,000 to £40,000 – dependent upon experience
