The Exciting Role
The College Group are looking for highly motivated and dedicated Invigilators to join our Examinations team on a casual basis. The successful candidates will be given full training annually to comply with JCQ regulations. Flexibility is required in this role as the successful candidates may be required to travel across any of the College campuses.
When invigilation is taking place away from the main College site, invigilators will be able to claim mileage costs (provided they are covered for business use, on their insurance policy) and will be paid for preparation time.
What You Will Be Doing
· Assisting with setting up examination venues by laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with the outlined procedures
· Assisting candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination venues
· Ensuring that candidates do not talk once inside the examination venue
· Checking identification and attendance during examinations
· Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures
What We Are Looking For:
· Good level of English
· Experience of working or studying in an education environment (desirable)
· Personal Skills and Attitudes
· Effective oral/ written communication skills
· An understanding of examination processes (desirable) as well as the ability to be patient
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to relate to students and teaching staff
