Reporting to the Associate Manager of Photography, the Photographer is responsible for ready-to-wear and still life photography as well as quality control of lighting and image assets for e-commerce. As part of our best-in-class Studio visual production team, the Photographer will ensure all images are consistent with the SSENSE style guide and production and productivity targets are met. The ideal candidate has great attention to detail and relevant knowledge in fashion and photography. This role works closely with Stylists, Retouchers, Art Direction, Set Coordinators, Producers, and the Studio Merchandise team, requiring a highly collaborative style and the ability to influence and motivate to drive performance results.
Responsibilities
E-commerce Photography 90%
- Photograph e-commerce images for both ready-to-wear and still life product
- Perform image processing and transfer to Retouchers as per SSENSE guidelines
- Ensure images are in order, lighting is consistent and naming conventions are correct on a daily basis
- Collaborate with on-set production team to identify issues and escalate to Associate Manager of Styling
- Maintain strict standards of quality control and stay up-to-date with SSENSE art direction
- Shoot model castings, as required
- Manage time appropriately to achieve daily production targets
- Stay up-to-date with SSENSE art direction
Continuous Improvement 10%
- Participate in art direction projects and studio strategic goals to develop styling techniques and capabilities
- Stay up-to-date on industry tools, techniques, and best practices in photography
- College diploma or BFA in Photography, or a related field
- Advanced knowledge of CaptureOne, Adobe Photoshop and image processing
- Minimum 1 year photography experience in an e-commerce studio
- Advanced knowledge of photography & lighting
- Experience in the fashion industry is an asset
- Proven experience using digital cameras and professional lighting equipment
