University Hospital Southampton Cancer Care Phlebotomy Service is urgently seeking a reliable individual, to work across the integrated Trust services: inpatient and outpatient.
The service operates 7am – 6pm Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm Saturday, Sunday and we have flexible bank shifts and long-term placement opportunities based on your availability.
We are also urgently seeking for Phlebotomists available for Lymington New Forest Hospital.
Your duties will include:
- To collect blood samples from both inpatients and outpatients using vacutainer or butterfly methods, ensuring that the correct colour bottles are used for each sample.
- To correctly label all samples once taken and package them in the appropriate manner ready for transportation to the laboratory.
- To transport samples to the laboratory if and when required.
- Safely disposing of blood and bodily fluids.
- Working flexibly across the integrated care trust to meet service need. (All acute and outpatient sites).
- Administrative duties, to support the service.
Essential:
- Must have previously worked as a phlebotomist in a healthcare setting
- Certification for venesection and cannulation

- Southampton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Phlebotomy: 1 year (preferred)
