As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing various clients' financial records, preparing payroll, and ensuring accurate calculation and filing of HST and WSIB. Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial records of multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
- Prepare payroll for clients, including calculating wages, salaries, deductions, and issuing paychecks.
- Accurately calculate and file HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) and WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) reports for clients within prescribed deadlines.
- Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Collaborate with clients and other team members to gather necessary financial information and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant tax regulations, accounting principles, and industry best practices.
- Assist with other accounting-related tasks and special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, HST, and WSIB regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Positive attitude, team player, and ability to thrive in a fun work environment.
Education and Certifications:
- Business Administration diploma or equivalent.
- Additional certification or education in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field is a plus.
