This role offers you the chance to work as part of an expanding and forward-thinking Workforce Development Team. As a Pharmacy Technician – Undergraduate Pharmacy Placements, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of undergraduate pharmacy placements at UHNM. The implementation and delivery of Undergraduate Pharmacy Placements is an exciting and rapidly expanding field within the profession, this will be stimulating role and you will be supported in its delivery. You will also play a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of all pharmacy professionals within the Pharmacy department, ultimately being part of a team ensuring the provision of exceptional pharmaceutical care across the Trust.
As a Pharmacy Technician – Undergraduate Pharmacy Placements, you will be supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of Undergraduate Pharmacy Placements at UHNM. You will collaborate closely with the Advanced Specialist Pharmacist – Pre-Registration Workforce Development and the wider Workforce Development team, the placement team at Keele University, the wider Pharmacy team, and of course pharmacy students. Your expertise in delivering ward-based pharmacy services, combined with your excellent communication and leadership skills, will be pivotal in nurturing a highly skilled and motivated pharmacy workforce.
You will deliver education and training to the wider pharmacy team in relation to the delivery of undergraduate pharmacy placements, “train the trainers”, and you will co-ordinate education, training and development of clinical/ technical/ support staff within the Pharmacy directorate as guided by the Workforce Development team.
In addition to the Workforce Development duties you will be expected to provide dispensary based activities (including the accurate dispensing and checking of prescriptions), and ward-based activities (including the completion of medicines reconciliation and ensuring appropriate medicines storage).
