Do you just love dogs and wish you could spend more time with them? Then this job is for you! Barkour Dog walking and pet sitting is currently looking for a new animal obsessed member to join our team on a self employed basis.

The right candidate must be happy to stay in someone else’s home and take care of their animals (mainly dogs) as if they were their own. You will need to be Reliable, physically fit, flexible and able to work weekends. This role starts on a part time basis with the potential for full time being available as clients and business grows and also the potential to do some hourly dog walking as required. You must be able to work effectively on your own, be happy to work in all weather conditions, as getting wet and muddy comes with the job. Most importantly, it is essential that you are comfortable working with all sizes and breeds of dogs as well as looking after other animals e.g. fish, cats, reptiles, small furries.

House sitting is perfect for dogs who don't do well in kennels and other environments and for clients who have multiple animals on their property, giving them the flexibility and peace of mind to be able to go away.

Main duties include:

  • Looking after people’s pets in their homes and keeping their homes tidy and looked after
  • Transporting dogs for walks
  • Ensuring pets are safe and cared for at all times and understanding specific needs for certain pets
  • Communicating with owners and updating them with pictures and videos of their pets
  • Constant health checks of the pets (ticks, cuts, abnormal behaviour etc and reporting to owners as required)
  • picking up dog waste and disposing of it properly
  • Organising your days and walks accordingly
  • Meeting with clients and completing paperwork prior to caring for the pets

What we require from you:

  • Full, Clear Driving licence
  • Your own vehicle
  • Fully insured on the vehicle you will be using (will need to be a business insurance)
  • Animal care experience
  • Flexibility to work days and overnights in peoples homes
  • Reliable and happy to work in all weather conditions
  • Have good communication skills with cleints
  • Organised
  • Provide your own work uniform and waterproof wear
