Job description
Male OR Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker (Casual) required to assist a child aged 8 with Autism and challenging behaviour, living in the Carluke area.
You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities.
Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
- Support with personal care such as supervising going to toilet, help with washing hands, showering, bathing, teeth brushing
- Occasional Administering of medication
- Preparation of meals and snacks within own home
Driver preferred but not essential, mileage allowance will be paid
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Favourite activities are going to the park, soft play, cinema, clubs, swimming, walks, going out for lunch, holidays and playing in the garden.
Essential experience:-
This job would suit someone with childcare (including, asn) care home and/or nursing experience. Or any other services involving children.
Must be patient and tolerant of children with Autism
Must be able to act calmly and sensitively in event of meltdown
Child requires constant supervision, especially while outside. He is not aware of common dangers and needs to be kept safe at all times.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Recruiting for one position Casual Contract
Days and times:
Typically – alternate Saturdays 12 noon – 5:00 pm
Hourly rate:
£13.00 per hour
