Job Description
I am seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant to join my care team. In this role, you will be assisting me with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, exercise, meal preparation, general house cleaning, and medication management.
Hours per week alternate between 48 hours and 72 hours. This includes sleep-in shifts with waking nights for assistance to the toilet and rolling during the night.
Training will be provided by a current Personal Care Assistant including how to operate my hoist.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with ADLs, for example; bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and toileting
- Manage medication as directed by me
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Accompany me anywhere I might need to go, including hospital appointments, and any other excursions.
- Walking my dog if I am unable. (Such as the weather being too cold or I'm unwell)
Requirements:
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) preferred, but not required
- Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities preferred
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
