My Life Legacy is seeking a highly skilled individual to be part of an established team supporting a young man with a Personal Health Budget in Oswaldtwistle. My Life Legacy was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives. My Life currently provides care and support to a growing number of individuals who have complex health and social care needs across the North West of England. Our staff are integral to the success of the charity as they are the ones making a real difference to people’s lives, in return we put significant investment in our employees.
Your Responsibilities
There is a Personal Assistant role available supporting a young man with Cerebral Palsy, he is a wheelchair user and requires full support to live his best life. He lives in his own home so your role will be to support him with all personal care, household chores, accessing his local community and attending events such as concerts and the theatre. He has a good sense of humour, a caring nature and an interest in Media, IT, Football and Film. As part of the My Life team, you will ensure that care is provided in a way that respects the individual and promotes their independence.
What you'll need to Succeed
In order to succeed, you will be kind-hearted and interested in making a positive difference to this young man’s life, enabling him to access the community. You will have experience working as a Support Worker / Personal Assistant. You will be self-motivated, flexible and have the ability to use your own initiative whilst being caring and sensitive to the needs of others. You will hold a full driving licence and experience supporting people with a learning disability and with PEG feeding is desirable.

The salary will be up to £13.05 per hour, depending upon experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
