Introduction

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Performance Test Lead your analytical and technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create. You will be generally in charge of a small team of performance testers for whom you will provide guidance in terms of approach and the specifications that are being tested to, including modelling workload based on client requirements. You will often need to work alongside our performance and application architects to determine the correct methods to prove the performance of the system, therefore you must have an understanding of a wide range of technologies that are used in modern enterprise IT solutions and how they can interact with each other to form an enterprise level solution.
You must also have a good working knowledge of performance testing tools in order to

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Several years demonstrable use of one or more of the following tools: Load Runner, JMeter, Rational Performance Tester, Gatling, NeoLoad (or another equivalent tool)
• Ability to write code in either or both Java or C primarily and to demonstrate this.
• Prior experience of managing a team
• Prior experience of managing stakeholder both client and internal
• Ability to work in an Agile environment as well as Waterfall
• Experience of DevOps tooling, Github/BitBucket, Jenkins, MS Build etc
• Ability to analyse and report on complex performance data to build conclusions

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Understanding of Networking concepts at all layers
• Understanding of database storage and partitioning concepts
• Understanding of the IBM Power series server architecture
• Experience of containerised solutions (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernettes etc)
• Understanding of message queuing solutions (IBMMQ, ActiveMQ etc)
• Experience of using Jira/Confluence
