Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) is a leading pure-play coffee and tea company selling their products in more than 100 countries globally. In the UK, Havas Media supports 3 of their well-known coffee brands; Kenco, L’OR and Tassimo. Kenco is reaching its 100-year anniversary this year and remains #2 in the UK for their instant range, L’OR just last year launched their first ever coffee machine (L’OR Barista) and has exciting growth plans for 2023, and renownedly-loved Tassimo is looking for new and innovative ways to disrupt the market and maximise their highest ever brewer park.
Stretching back to 1966, when Kia was founded, the automotive brand has been on an incredible transformation since they started selling their first cars back in 1991. Fast-forward to 2021 Kia underwent a remarkable Brand Transformation changing their identity and preparing for the launch of their all-new electric vehicle – the EV6. What behaviours we need from you:
For your team, you will be a leading figure driving excellence in performance planning, guiding and support your team, bridging the requirements of both the client and wider agency.
You will:
- Effectively manage upwards; building positive cross functional relationships, provides solutions when escalating issues, anticipates the needs of the wider team
- Proactively develops more junior members of the team and drafts clear objectives, including ownership of appropriate appraisals.
- Work with specialist team leads to manage hours dedicated to the account to ensure profitability
- Effectively communicate upwards account challenges and suggests structural changes to retainer/contract where appropriate

- Works with a Client Partner to identify growth opportunities on the account, proactively pursuing these opportunities and making them a reality
- Suggesting well thought through, reasoned alternatives to identify better commercial opportunities
- Present to senior client stakeholders, clear and well thought out proposals and recommendations
- Actively seeking out the opinions from others in the Havas village to aid decision making
- Independently engaging in tasks which require a high degree of interpretation of complex information
- Have a curious mind, takes a proactive approaching to managing risk.
Role Competencies:
The successful candidate will be able to deliver upon the following:
- Extensive media experience, a strategic thinker ideally from a planning or activation background
- Has very strong Performance and data experience (tech experience is a bonus)
- Can interpret and analyse performance data comprehensively (e.g. Econometrics/MMM/Google Analytics) and use it to orchestrate strategies, planning and recommendations
- Is confident setting budgets and strategies overall/by channel/partners based on their clients’ business objectives and KPIs/targets
- Experience in senior stakeholder management including clients, and, working with top-tier media owners to deliver first-in-class media activations and testing
- A strong understanding about how Brand and Performance can work together to drive short and long-term business growth, outputs and outcomes.
- The ability to apply ‘Big P’ thinking to all strategies and plans and confidence in devising full funnel measurement frameworks
- Experience in customer data strategies / integrations and understands the importance of data-led planning and activation
- Can confidently sell in channels/solutions/partners/tech to clients to address their short and long-term business challenges and needs
- Has experience co-ordinating channels teams to deliver unified strategies for our clients (e.g. OneSearch or Programmatic/Social), ensuring insights and learnings are shared between channels to drive performance growth
- Not afraid to challenge clients / partners
- Have a strong and up to date knowledge of the industry and a strong point of view of what we should do in terms of products and solutions
- Strong presentation skills are a must including new business experience
- Upskill the wider planning team on all thing’s performance, and empower them to develop their performance mindsets
- Can create clear measurement frameworks and set out guidance for appropriate KPIs to assess the viability of plans
