EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In this multi-specialist role, you could be operating in several areas across the financial reporting, business planning and analysis departments of the Severn Trent group.
You’ll support in the delivery of a group financial reporting and accounting service ensuring Severn Trent’s compliance with group accounting policies and relevant Accounting Standards. You will have exposure to both external and internal financial reporting, delivering the Severn Trent Plc group financial statements and interim report and providing insight and analysis of the financial information by way of management accounts, budgets, plans and forecasts.
Any role of this nature will be expected to work closely with other specialist teams within the Finance Department including Tax, Group Treasury and Investor Relations and will report to key stakeholders such as Investor Relations, the CFO, STEC and other ad hoc teams as required. The role will also involve coordinating and liaising with external auditors.
This is a key role in the co-ordination of monthly financial and performance reporting to Executive and Board for the Group to highlight key issues against budget/forecast and actions in place to address.
We’ll look for you to review, challenge and summarise business unit returns covering operations, strategy, treasury, and investor relations and complete risks and spot opportunities analysis against forecast submissions.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re looking for you to have ideally experience of operating at the centre of a large (FTSE 350) listed company, either as an auditor or within a finance team with strict deadlines. We’ll look for you to have an enquiring mind with the ability to think clearly and logically. Due to the different stakeholders you’ll be working with, strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present complex technical issues clearly will be really handy.
We’ll be looking for you to be fully qualified in accountancy, with an ability and willingness to work through the full financial and accountancy life cycle.
