This role at Dawsongroup has a wide remit which includes providing generalist HR administration support and is an important support role to not only the People Services department but the business as a whole.
Your typical day will involve:
- Being the first line response to all queries into the department and provide basic advice where appropriate.
- Supporting employees and managers across the business with basic queries on policies and procedures.
- Supporting the People Services Assistants with the administration of the employee lifecycle and people related administration (i.e., new starter processes including probation reviews, referencing and reference letters, etc.)
- Data entry.
- Monitoring the shared department inbox ensuring colleagues get accurate and timely responses or that the email is escalated to the appropriate team member.
- Support Learning and Development events, including room bookings, catering, and administration.
- Understanding how best to assist the People Services team.
- Ability and willingness to undertake administrative tasks.
- Experience of prioritising workloads and managing own time.
- Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information.
- Ability to work co-operatively and supportively with others.
- Maintain a high standard of work - ensuring attention to detail, IT literate, clear and effective communicator both written and verbal.
- A friendly, approachable individual with great communication skills and a passion for administration with strong attention to detail.
- Someone who is familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- A positive, approachable attitude with the ability to be an effective team member.
- Demonstrate a keenness to learn and take direction, as you will have continuous training opportunities throughout your journey with us.

Entry requirements
GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or equivalent
Training to be provided
With the appropriate on the job training, supervision and guidance, the People Services Apprentice will develop their skillset throughout the duration of their contract and will be exposed to more areas of HR as they learn and progress through their apprenticeship.
