Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the workforce planning and resource deployment for major events and venue associated M&E activity. Work with the operational leaders to agreed workforce planning forecasts, payroll processes, financial reviews, required adjustments and scheduling deadlines.
  • Work with the staffing coordinator to ensure that appropriate levels of staff have been booked and confirmed for work.
  • Agree upon direct book and agency partner scheduling headcount target ratios with the venue General Manager and Sportservice Head of People Operations.
  • Ensure that all identified users are fully trained and conversant with the company Time and Attendance System to ensure a consistent approach.
  • Work with the Head of Sportservice People Operations and Talent Acquisition team to forecast future casual workforce needs. Actively participate in the recruitment and selection process of future casual workers. Take full accountability for the successful welcome of all new recruits to their home location.
  • Take full accountability for the effective management of local payroll processing.
  • Evaluate the impact of all events executed and advise the operating business accordingly in context of future workforce planning recommendations.
  • Generate and provide reports where necessary to facilitate the execution of the business.
  • Follow all company protocols and process in agency partner management, liaising with the Head of Sportservice People Operations as needed.
  • Own the communication agenda, liaising with the operational leaders at site, the wider sportservice community, and the casual workforce to deliver effective and timely campaigns designed to maximise the direct book ratios.
  • Support the central HR and Loss Prevention teams with first line response and management of local, generalist employee relations matters.
  • Ensure that the operation is in accordance with current practice, management, and measurement of all areas of responsibility including health & safety, food hygiene, fire regulations, licensing laws, and trading standards.

Qualifications

  • A Levels or 2+ years’ experience in a similar role required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role in an organization with a large variable/casual workforce.
  • At least 2 years’ experience managing multiple agency relationships (more than 20).
  • Ability to use an HR information system including accessing, inputting, and compiling data
  • Superior communication, interpersonal, customer service and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of management. Must possess a high standard of influencing skills with the ability to constructively challenge as appropriate.
  • Strong organisational, time and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement, develop strategies, and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures is desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of UK Employment Law is desirable.
  • Experience of applying HR advisory skills in a Sportservice and/or event-based business is desirable.

Coventry Building Society Arena is a multipurpose sports and entertainment venue. Home to the Wasps Rugby Football Club and Coventry City Football Club, there’s plenty of sporting action at the arena.
