Job description
OutThink aims to transform cybersecurity by addressing the biggest vulnerability in organisation’s cyber defences – the human element, involved in 91% of security breaches.
We do this by putting people at the centre of managing an organisation’s cyber risk and have pioneered the world’s first Cybersecurity Human Risk Management platform (SaaS). Our platform is used by large, complex organisations around the world.
We are now on our way to building a world-class software company and are backed by leading VCs including Albion, Forward Partners, GapMinder and TriplePoint.
Our mission is only possible by bringing onboard the best people. We are looking for an ambitious People & Operations Manager to join the team, reporting to our VP of Finance. This opportunity is tailor made for an accomplished Talent Manager ready to embrace a broader scope of responsibilities. Alternatively this role may appeal if you’re a versatile T-Shaped professional, such as a management consultant exploring new avenues, and you’re enthusiastic about making a substantial impact in a fresh role that offers a transformative career experience, uncapped growth opportunities and life changing equity.
What you will do in the role
- Attract and hire the best people. We’ve set a high bar and are looking to hire people who have potential to succeed as A-players at OutThink. You will run the recruitment playbook, drive recruitment marketing activities and ensure we hire well.
- Retain and empower the best people. Hired top people? Great! You’ll also be responsible for running initiatives and programs that ensure OutThink supports our current and new team members bring their best to work in a distributed environment.
- Scale people operations, systems and process. You’ll take lead on this front, ensuring robust onboarding processes and scaling internal people policies pragmatic for our company size.
- Champion employee experience initiatives. You’ll champion a set of People initiatives including our annual company hackathon and internal events.
- Anything else that comes our way. We’re a growing start-up and we’ll look to you to be dynamic and step outside of your swim-lane from time-to-time.
Your background
- First and foremost, a great attitude. We’re pioneering on new frontiers. You’ve got the right attitude towards a sense of urgency, risk and uncertainty about the future that comes with working at an early-stage start-up. This is an opportunity to be involved in an exciting journey and be a core foundational member of Operations.
- Proven academic excellence. Ideally, you have a strong educational foundation, ideally holding an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Commerce or related HR fields. We value people who can demonstrate a track record of exceptional performance during their academic journey.
- Relevant experience. You’ve done a few years exceeding goals in a recruitment capacity. Alternatively, you’ve got a few years of top-tier consulting experience and are ready to take the plunge into being a part of building an Operations team from first principles.
- Collaborative working style. You’ll ultimately be a People partner in this role. You’ve got a background in being an effective team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You’re able to work collaboratively in diverse and cross-functional teams.
