We are looking to recruit a Pay and Benefits Data Entry Clerk to join our People and Organisation service.
About the role
We’re recruiting for a Pay and Benefits Data Entry Clerk to join our Payroll team on a permanent basis, based at our Aberystwyth office.
To provide support within the payroll section to help ensure the efficient, accurate and timely running of the payroll process. Our People and Organisation service provides a wide range of services to the 3,500 people that work for the local authority. The People and Organisation service comprises of HR, Pay and Benefits, Learning and Development and Health and Safety teams. We are a forward-thinking service with ambitious plans to improve the way we receive process and communicate information to our people to ensure we are an efficient team providing a high-quality service to the organisation.
About the candidate
The candidate should have exceptional attention to detail, work to deadlines and be able to work efficiently as part of a team. Existing payroll experience or transferrable skills in using spreadsheets, processing timesheets or accounting would be desirable.
Training and support will be provided through mandatory e-learning and one-to-one support with experienced members of the team to achieve the knowledge and skills required for the post. For this we would require someone with good ICT skills with some level of experience using payroll or accounting software and/or spreadsheets, most importantly though, the desire to learn and develop. The role will involve regular communications with employees, therefore we would expect the candidate to be customer focused, comfortable on the phone and able to respond to emails in a professional manner, both in English and Welsh.
The candidate will need to show flexibility and commitment to meet our monthly payroll deadlines and timescales.
Due to the requirements of the role the successful candidate must have a level of Welsh fluency on appointment. Please see the person specification for the further details.
