We are a well-established Internet Service Provider who are expanding! We have secured several £multi-million projects and are continuing to acquire more. Due to a period of organic growth we are looking to recruit a Project Manager for our Central/North Division
Salary £50,000 to £55,000 + car allowance + great company benefits
This is a new role within the team structure so a great opportunity to really add value and a fantastic opportunity to further develop your career within our thriving business. You will be leading a team of up to 5 but working within a wider team of 80. Reporting to the Regional Head of Build and Delivery this is a really varied and pivotal to the success of the region. Concentrating on our North/Central projects the role will be hybrid based to include occasional visits to Droitwich. As Project Manager you will utilise your excellent project skills and experience to ensure your projects are delivered to timescales .
What do you need as Project Manager?
Strong communication skills are essential and previous experience in engaging with local authorities/councils/government would be advantageous. The team operate a collaborative, friendly and open culture.
You will be expected to manage the stakeholder and supplier relationships, lead a small project team and further develop the organisation's project management capability. As such a demonstrable track record of working within a recognised formal PPM methodology and experience rolling out FTTP is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage direct labour and third party contractors to deliver your projects in line with business and customer expectations.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within the scope and within budget
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Develop a detailed project plan to track the progress.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimise project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Assist with bid writing for the acquisition of new projects.
- Manage the project team
Requirements
- The ability to develop, steer and empower your team offering a collaborative, open and motivating culture
- Great educational background, preferably in the field of telecommunications. Fibre technology knowledge is desirable but not essential.
- Experience with NEC contracts
- A champion communicator with the ability to liaise at Senior level, interdepartmental and supplier level. Often representing the business externally at Council and community level.
- Previous experience managing contractors on infrastructure builds
- Proven working experience as a project manager
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel coupled with strong numerical skills
- Occasional travel to site is required with this role
