CARE WORKER SOS - (Waking Night Shift)

Location: Inverness

Position Available: Part Time /Relief

Shifts: 8 pm –8 am (Waking Nightshift)

Salary: £13.50 per hour

Additional Information: Full UK driving licence is essential (car provided)

We are currently recruiting new staff to join the excellent team of Care Workers in our Care at Home Team in our Specialist Overnight Service.

About the Specialised Overnight Support Service

The Specialised Overnight Support Service (SOS) is a unique and innovative service supporting the Care at Home Services within the Inverness area to allow people to stay at home and also prevent admissions to hospital throughout the night. This is a collaborative partnership between three local and established care providers who are committed to its success.

As an SOS Care Worker, you will be working in pairs visiting service users in Inverness making a real difference to their lives, building trust and strong relationships and being able to deliver compassionate personal care and support throughout the night time, such as catheter care, continence care, medication and welfare checks. There will be planned support times within this role however you will also be expected to respond to situations when they arise to deliver welfare and well-being checks taking referrals at times from the Out of Hours social work team.

Experience & Requirements

  • Care Work Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience, specific to community care at home is desirable but not essential, as full training and mentoring will be provided before starting in the role. We do ask that you have a friendly, caring, positive attitude, and a willingness to help adults who are less able to remain in their own homes for as long as many others in society.
  • Professionalism: You must be able to build professional, confidential and supportive relationships with your clients.
  • Availability: Waking Nights
  • Qualifications: SVQ in Health and Social Care (SVQ 3 minimum) – consideration will be given to applicants who are already progressing within the vocational system.
  • Personality: You should have a positive attitude and patience, with good verbal and written communication skills. You will be a team player and help provide flexible support to any of our clients.
