About the role
As a Passenger Assistant you will be supporting vulnerable children or adults travelling on Wiltshire Council contracted transport to and from school or their respective social day care services.
Working in conjunction with the driver, you will ensure that the passengers in your care have a safe and enjoyable journey.
About you
You will need to be patient, understanding and have the ability to empathise with vulnerable children and adults, who may have a physical disability, learning difficulties and/or display challenging behaviour.
As a Passenger Assistant, you will be involved in a degree of manual handling, manipulation and clamping of wheelchairs and first aid / evacuation of a vehicle in an emergency. Full training is provided and attendance at training is mandatory.
Please note - most journeys take place at either the start or end of the school day, with a limited number at other times during the day.
You will be collected and dropped off at your home address.
