The Alexandra Court Hotel is a Boutique wedding and event venue situated in the heart of Congleton. We are looking for a part-time Receptionist/General Assistant to provide clerical, administrative and financial support to the Director of Business. This will include maintenance of records, written and electronic origination of letters, photocopying, scanning and phone calls.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Managing telephone and email reservations/enquiries via Rez Control (Property Management System)
- Meet and Greet Customers on a daily basis
- Checking In/Checking Out of Guests
- Daily banking and updating internal systems with payments received.
- Maintaining the sales and purchase ledger system.
- Accurately enter and reconcile all bank transactions into Xero.
- Assist with month end procedures.
- File and scan paperwork as required.
- Demonstrate flexibility in an ever changing and improving environment, coupled with a positive attitude and a high standard of self conduct.
Due to the nature of the business being a Boutique hotel it is important for the ideal candidate to understand that their duties will also include other tasks such as:
- Serving breakfast to guests - taking breakfast orders
- Kitchen Duties - Cleaning up following breakfast service
- Cleaning Duties - Assist in the cleaning of communal areas of the hotel: hoovering/polishing/mopping
- Serving at the bar - replenishing stocks within the bar
- Waiting on at Functions/Weddings
The role is part time, approximately 32 hours per week, with a starting pay of £10.75 per hour increasing to £11.25 per hour after a successful 6-month probationary period. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business; specific shift patterns include breakfast (early starts from 6:45am weekdays/8am on a weekend) & evenings (late finishes of 10pm/11pm), weekdays, weekends and public holidays and the need to provide cover for holidays and during busy periods especially at functions is essential. Hours of work will be discussed at interview stage to give clarity.
Specific requirements of the successful candidate:
- Previous experience in a SME background preferably in the hospitality sector.
- Good numeracy and computer literacy skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Team player and willing to provide additional support to Management and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work using own initiative and motivation.
- Willingness to adapt to change.
- Strong admin and computer skills with the confidence to learn new systems.
Required experience:
- Previous experience in a SME background preferably in the hospitality sector.
- 1 year preferably, front of house/customer service with a knowledge of hotel finance systems.
- All training will be provided.
