MMR Research Worldwide specialises in consumer and sensory research and works with large, international brands within the food, beverage & personal/household care sectors.
We are recruiting individuals to join our expert sensory panels as a part-time Product Evaluator / Sensory Panellist.
WHERE: Our Sensory Science Centre, Wokingham
HOURS: Core hours are Monday – Wednesday, either morning or early afternoon with flexibility to work on extra pre-notified days on occasions due to project needs
PAY: £11.50 p/h
This role includes:
- Working individually and within a team to evaluate food, drink & personal care products ranging from alcohol, meat and individual ingredients through to shampoo & skin care products..
- Research will include over the counter medicines like pain relief creams, anti-acid remedies, vitamins and supplements, etc, the type of products you can buy in a supermarket from the health care aisle.
- Projects may also involve assessing home equipment like toothbrushes, hair dryers, fridges, kettles, cookers, etc.
- You will be taught how to generate sensory descriptive vocabulary as a group (relating to taste, appearance, texture and smell) and then individually rank products on these descriptors.
- No experience necessary as full training is provided
Requirements
Requirements for this role:
- You must not have any dietary restrictions (e.g. vegetarian) and be happy to evaluate alcohol products when required
- You must not have any food intolerances/allergies
- You must not have a strong dislike for any food or drink
- Good sensory acuity relating to smell and taste (we assess this at your interview)
- You should have the ability to follow detailed instructions and complete routine tasks quickly and accurately.
- Have the ability to articulate yourselves in fluent English in front of others.
