Yusen Logistics are looking to recruit Class 1 Drivers to work at our Grange Park, Northampton depot (NN4 5FB) with the opportunity to work flexibly on an Annualised Hours contract. These are permanent positions but offer the flexibility of working fewer hours.
How does the Annualised Hours Contract work?
On a weekly basis, you will work 16-32 hours (Monday – Friday), picking your shifts from those available as part of a rota sent to your device.
You will receive notifications of available shifts to your device via our JoinedUp system. All details will be shared with you (location, rate, shift pattern, who to report to). You simply book the shifts that suit you.
We will be happy to discuss and confirm details of the hours at interview stage.

Main Duties of the role
As an LGV Class 1 Driver, you will safely and efficiently deliver palletised products to other Yusen Depots and distribution centres within a geographical area throughout the UK.
Ensuring the designated routes are adhered to, you’ll undertake route checks for safety restrictions, planned road works and traffic to ensure your journey will be smooth and efficient.
Please note, this role does not involve manual handling, but we may ask occasionally to assist in helping with unloading goods where necessary.
Start times vary from midnight so there will be a start time to suit your personal requirements.

To be considered for the role as a Class 1 Driver, you will:
- Be willing to undertake the manual handling of goods, including loading and unloading of products where necessary (including palletised and white goods)
- Undertake any other duties as necessary in line with operations requirements
- Be able to ensure service level agreements are maintained
- Meet all special instructions as detailed on delivery documentation
- Ensure all documentation is signed and completed as required
- Follow SCW procedure (Stop Call Wait)
- On return to Depot, report to office for full debrief
- Comply with vehicle and load security procedures at all times
- Contribute effectively within a team environment
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle at all times
- Provide excellent customer service
Required skills
- A full, valid LGV Class 1 licence with a minimum of 12 months experience
- No more than 6 points on your licence
- A good working knowledge of working time regulations
- A CPC Driver qualification
- A current Digital Tachograph Card
- A flexible attitude to working hours
- To be able to work collaboratively within a team environment
