Ranil Jayawardena MP is conscious that it is often hard for young people to gain experience in politics.
That’s why, as he has done in many of his seven years in Parliament, he is willing to offer a highly motivated individual this opportunity, fitting flexibly around any other commitments they may have, e.g. studying and paid work etc.
This role will place you at the heart of his parliamentary and constituency work for North East Hampshire, providing valuable insight into his work as the local Member of Parliament, offering the opportunity to gain political and campaigning experience too, should you wish.
- Diary management;
- Data entry and analysis;
- Assisting with letter writing and literature design;
- Resident surveying;
- Office administration;
- Organising events;
- Drafting press releases; and
- Digital communication.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Hardworking, flexible, pro-active team player;
- Strong communication and organisational skills and able to take the initiative;
- Good computer and technology skills;

- Sympathetic to the aims and values of the Conservative Party.
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
