Job description
Here at Park Head we realise the wonderful potential of each and all of our children. To help us do this as widely as possible, we wish to appoint a Family Support Worker. All children in England & Wales are taught “how to look after their mental wellbeing and recognise when classmates may be struggling. Pupils of all ages will be taught with a focus on promoting the positive link between physical and mental health.”
Here at Parkhead Primary we talk about this a lot, we address it in class, we talk about it in assemblies, we recognise the burden that some children are carrying and want our Family Support Worker to support our children’s need and understanding in this area.
The Family Support Worker will work together with parents/carers and with staff as well as children. Parents are the most important influence on a child’s attitudes, achievements and life outcomes – they are the key to a child’s success. The role of the Family Support Worker is to work in partnership with pupils, families and staff to enable pupils, particularly the most disadvantaged, to have full access to educational opportunities and overcome barriers to learning and participation.
The Family Support Worker will focus on preventative and early intervention activities, working directly with parents in a non-judgemental way, empowering them and their families to get the most out of the fantastic educational opportunities here at Park Head.
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of our school team, in partnership with parents to support their children’s emotional, social, physical, intellectual and health needs.
Parkhead Community Primary School is a safeguarding school.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE TO APPLY FOR AN ENHANCED DISCLOSURE.
Previous applicants need not apply, application forms will be considered.
