Job description
Paramedic in Primary Care
The Rowan Tree Practice is excited to welcome a paramedic onto the team, as part of their extended multidisciplinary team.
We are a forward thinking and agile practice looking to benefit from the insight of a paramedic as part of our clinical team. The role would help the candidate develop their portfolio, offering regular but varied patient contact in a stable and routine environment.
Basic tasks in a clinic would include taking and interpreting blood pressure measurements, ECGs, phlebotomy, and basic investigations that paramedics will have experience of. Dependent on experience and within the scope of their education, the potential candidate would ideally undertake specific patient management reviews in a specialist area, such as diabetes or asthma, or be comfortable triaging and/or assessing patients with minor illnesses.
Importantly this is a role with the candidate's development in mind, so we would actively encourage any training opportunities and would assist in funding these.
· Essential:
Educated to degree/diploma level in Paramedicine or equivalent experience.
Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Have completed their two-year ‘Consolidation of Learning’ period as a “newly qualified paramedic”.
Have a further three years’ experience as a band 6 (or equivalent) paramedic.
Be working towards developing masters level or equivalent capability in paramedic areas of practice and, within six months of the commencement of reimbursement for that individual (or a longer time period as agreed with the commissioner), has completed and been signed off formally within the clinical pillar competencies of the paramedic FCP/AP roadmap to practice.

Fantastic patient care; the ability to make people feel calm and comfortable
Have a desire to learn and improve within your discipline
Be passionate and aware of CPD opportunities that are available to you as a paramedic
