Job description
We are recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Commercial Dispute Resolution team Bristol. This is a full time hybrid working opportunity which is being offered on a 13 month fixed term contract basis.
Your Role
As a Paralegal you will be responsible for the following;
- Opening files, conflict checking, organising and reviewing documents, including ongoing file management such as filing correspondence, photocopying, scanning, closing;
- Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and databases for reporting purposes (to assist with internal and external reporting requirements);
- Pre-litigation to include issuing taking client instructions, considering and advising on merits, issuing letters before claim and statutory demands, instructing trace reports, instructing Counsel;
- Liaising with clients and opponents;
- Legal research;
- Supporting on document production including preparing paper and electronic court bundles;
- Managing defended proceedings to include diarising key court deadlines, preparing and lodging documents at court and serving on opponents in accordance with court deadlines;
- Billing and arranging payments to third parties.
Your Skills and Experience
- Previous legal assistant experience is preferable.
- Excellent communication skill (both oral and written).
- Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight timescales.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
