We advise on a wide spectrum of contentious and non-contentious corporate matters and clients include global corporates, private equity funds, AIM listed companies (and Nomads) as well as entrepreneurial owner/managed businesses. Whilst the majority of our deals were in the £10m - £40m bracket in 2010/11, we also undertake smaller transactions. The Team have a wealth of specialist expertise, particularly in publishing, radio, hotel and leisure, sovereign wealth funds, partnerships and healthcare.
To provide paralegal / administrative support to the Knowledge Lawyer in the Corporate Department
- Assisting with the review, development and maintenance of the Corporate Department’s resources in the firm’s precedent database.
- Assisting with the design and maintenance of the Corporate Department’s intranet pages, including uploading new content and updating existing content.
- Updating the Corporate Department’s pages on the firm’s training platform (recording training sessions, editing and uploading the content and supporting materials).
- Providing administrative support with the Corporate Department’s internal and external seminars (including managing diaries and bookings and maintain training schedules and budget spreadsheets).
- Providing administrative support with legal tech projects as they arise.
- Supporting the Knowledge Lawyer with internal seminars and preparing draft presentations (Powerpoint slides and presentation notes).

- Previous experience in a Paralegal or Legal Assistant position preferred but not essential.
- Strong academic background.
- Law degree or equivalent qualification preferred.
The hours of work for this opportunity are 9:30am - 5:30pm but we would expect the candidate to be committed, flexible and prepared to work beyond the normal office hours if necessary and in response to client demand. The candidate will be expected to follow the firm’s agile working policy, which embraces home working but will require employees to spend a minimum number of days each week in the office. Farrer & Co is open to flexible working by arrangement although this role is intended as a full-time/four-day week position.
